Northeastern Louisiana pecans, like other fall crops, were damaged during two months of almost constant rain in September and October, but there should be enough supply for plenty of classic Christmas pies and candies.
"Our crop was below average, but we'll be able to meet demand," said Rick Pierce of the 65-acre Double P Farm in eastern Ouachita Parish. "It's that time of year when everybody wants them. I started getting calls in October."
