In just a year the Early College Academy has transformed into more of a high school, complete with clubs, dances and eventually its own performance score. With just ninth- and 10th- graders and 104 students, they attend classes in South Louisiana Community College from noon to 6 p.m. The goal is to end with a high school and associate's degree at the end of four years. "You get thousands of dollars of education for free," freshman Sam Elberson said.
